Product Overview
Aerial Bunched (AB) Cables

Bringing safe and reliable power to communities - whether in bustling cities or remote rural landscapes - is a challenge that Plaza Aerial Bunched (AB) Cables are purpose-built to meet. With tightly bundled, insulated conductors and a robust construction, these overhead cables significantly reduce power losses, minimize electrical faults, and outperform traditional bare conductor lines in both safety and reliability. Designed to withstand challenging environmental conditions and difficult terrains, Plaza AB Cables are as dependable on a mountain road as they are on an urban street. Easy to install and built for long-term durability, they represent a smarter, safer approach to overhead power distribution - one that keeps homes, farms, and businesses powered without interruption, no matter where they are.

Aluminum conductors with heat treated aluminium-magnesium-silicon alloy messenger Insulation: XLPE UV and weather resistant Suitable for overhead installation without poles Minimizes LT faults, increasing transformer life and reducing interruptions. Perfect for places with space limitations. Built to withstand tough environmental conditions. Lower power loss compared to bare conductors. RoHS compliant REACH compliant Rodent protection

Specifications

STANDARDS IS14255:1995, IS: 8130, IS:398(Part-4), BS 7870-5
CONDUCTOR Phase/Street Lighting conductor: H2 or H4 grade aluminum conductor as per of IS:8130
Messenger Conductor: Heat treated aluminum-magnesium-silicon alloy wires containing approximate 0.5 percent magnesium and approximately 0.5 percent silicon as per IS:398(Part-4).
INSULATION XLPE Insulated cables are specially made from high grade cross-linked polyethylene for insulation by extrusion process or PE Insulated cables are specially made from high grade polyethylene for insulation by extrusion process.
CORE The cores are identified by one, two or three ‘ridges’ and outer neutral insulated conductor, if provided, shall have four ‘ridges’. The street lighting conductor and messenger conductor (if insulated) shall not have any identification mark.
LAYING UP Three insulated phase conductors, one insulated neutral conductor (if required) and a street lighting conductor (if required) shall be twisted around the bare (or insulated) as required messenger conductor with a lay not exceeding 3.5 times the diameter of the insulated phase conductor. The direction of lay will be right hand.
TEST As per IS14255:1995, IS: 8130, IS:398(Part-4), BS 7870-5
